Study of Liver Dysfunction in Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients

BACKGROUND: Pulmonary tuberculosis is found to be associated with impaired liver function tests. AIMS & OBJECTIVES: Study of 30 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis in which liver function tests were carried out. MATERIALS & METHODS: After confirming the presence of AFB, Liver function tests and Liver biopsy were done. OBSERVATIONS: H.P.E. of liver revealed tuberculous granuloma in one case (3.33%) while 70% showed non-specific changes. However, 26.6% were normal. CONCLUSION: Granuloma formation is rare and live
